My build progress

Ah, awesome.

I’d like to do the following with the DS:

  • Wav Trigger (the Daisy is way cheaper than the Wav Tsunami!)
  • Granulator
  • Wave Table Synth (like the Edge WCO / Dove Audio WTF)
  • PaulStretch

I’ve never seen anybody put the PaulStretch/PadSynth algorithms in a hardware module before, so I’d like to try that.

Well, this is annoying:

Someone’s thinkin’ small.

Small knobs, small bra… oops… sorry

That’s only 85cm wide…

Initial assumptions suck. Strike that first word. Assumptions suck.

So I finally decided to put all my designs on JLC. But received unpleasant surprise. It turns out that you don’t get 2$ deal if your board is panellised or has any v-cuts.

Yeah, they do say so if you read the fine print. People have tried to find workarounds with hit and miss success. It’s still the cheapest thing going.

Well I fell for some youtube videos that said that you CAN do panellised for 2USD.
So then I wonder, it is still cheaper to make two orders of 50x100 for 2$, than to make a panel design in the same order for 6-7$.

When you add in shipping? Probably not.

I mean in the same order, not shipping separately.

Well, you only get the $2 for the first sub-100 mm board in an order. The second is $4.

On further investigation it was not the solder mask scorching, it was the flux, and the white was showing up my inadequate cleanup technique better.

You know, that actually occurred to me. That certainly will show up better on white

Finally I can post a tiny step forward. I started today with @EddyBergman’s layout of the Steiner Parker filter and I am really looking forward to the finished module. It’s the first time I have to split the circuit board, I’m curious how I get that fixed to the Eurorack panel.

You can ask Doolang how he did it. He successfully made one like that too. Good luck with the build! You’re going to love this filter. It’s one of the best out there.

Built a 5 barre Piezo controller tonight.

This looks wonderful!
Im thinking that a ridged / ribbed surface would give you additional performance options.
I love the whole look.

Really nice !
That’s exactly what I want to do with the 5 MikroKosmos with “inverted” panels I’ll get from jlcpcb…

I really hadn’t expected my new 12U, 300HP Eurorack case to basically be full as soon as it was built. Time to sell some modules!

Luckily (?) it will be relatively easy to add two rows by simply replacing the sides and adding rails and a third power supply.

Finished up a Baby 8 sequencer taking most of the design from Kristian Blåsol’s videos as well as -minus-'s design as a base. I wanted to build a basic version, with just switches for the gate, took a while to understand Kristian’s designs and be able to separate the switch parts. Not sure it’s the most efficient layout and there are a few mistakes but it seems to be working phew.

Stripboard layout, the crossed out resistors are because i took out a bunch of parts including the TL072 when i realised i didn’t need them.
