My build progress

Thank you.

Frenzied research shows (I read a few posts and some reddit), that apparently the rat is one of the few that actually works super well with a synth. Phew!

If you go out of you synth …, but if you want to go in another module (a filter for exemple) you won’t have enough signal I think, but like i said i’m not a specialist, someone can confirm plz ?

How will you connect the pcb to the front panel? Does it fit the height of your euro rack case?

Confusingly, “works well with synths” is different from “works at synth level”.

I love that footplate case.

Thanks, it is just some random scraps I snook out the trash and welded up real quick. Very unpractical not to have rails.

Unpractical, yes, but especially Case3 looks so nice!!

Oh what wouldn’t I do if I had a mig welder or suchlike. Rails make no difference to sound…unless it does in which case fantastic!!

Mig schmig. Just get a couple old microwaves and get welding:

I only share this because it popped up in my history today. 7 years ago today I repaired my fence with a welder I cobbled together out of some scrap romex, a $10 stinger from harbor freight, and some old broken microwaves I got for $5 each from the local thrift store.

It’s not the easiest thing to weld with…but…it beats not having a welder

Don’t take this as anything but utter admiration but that’s the kind of project that gets my kids wondering if im nuts. I love you! Superb!

Yeah, that’s kind of the reaction my wife and friends had as well. I’ve come to expect it at this point!

Yeah sorry. Serious geek crush. Reminded me so much of 9 year old me trying to use botched homemade thermite as a quick weld on the autogyro I was building in my mums garage.
This did not fly well with my folks and my spruce goose never flew at all (well the prop did)

My buddy lost a thumb taking apart an old microwaves as a kid, they scare the shit out of me! Make sure all those big capacitors are discharged!
