I decided to get organized and emulate some of what I saw in @ChristianBloch 's studio pix. First I had to make these:

…so I could keep my Behringers and an 84p Eurorack rail (not pictured) in this:

Rearranged the toy room too.

Nice! How did you make them? Vise, hammer, drill, paint?

Aluminium L-brackets, table saw, drill press, grinder, rivet gun (in the case of the Model D ears) and self-etching primer. I saw that Behringer was coming out with those ears but no one has them yet so I figured I should earn my street cred here.

Oh, they’re out. It’s what I have. I think Perfect Circuit has them, though I got mine from Thomann. Yours look really nice, though. No hideous Behringer logo marring the surface :joy:

Awe, thanks-just don’t look at them too closely!

Nice looking module. Great tune too.

I like the way you fit two slews in the one panel - my first attempt at a dual slew was a fail. So this time around I went simple.

Let’s make some Kosmo’s

Soo, 3 days later, I’ve tinkered something. I redesigned some of my 80mm wide plexi glass panels and made them 50mm. I still had 3 smaller ones, there were already holes in them and I made the best of them. These are my first attempts with aluminum panels and I think they turned out quite well for that.

The first module “lowlow” is a simple op amp to attach the Korg Volca sample to synth volume. Then a simple VCA from the CUSI Sound YouTube channel. The Roland System 100 LFO (very simple). In addition, the core of Sam’s 3340 VCO with a few tweaks. And finally Rene Schhmitzes ADSR. Tomorrow I’ll screw everything into the rack / case and then it’s finally time to play!

I almost forgot the module, it’s Sam’s MS-20 filter, I built it 3 days ago

Well, by saying that you missed the opportunity to sell them as ‘ventilation holes to cool the electrons in the circuits in order to preserve the high fidelity of the sound’ (or something similar one always finds in HiFi magazines).

But apart from that they look really nice!

Those look rad. The holes make em even cooler.

Between two paint job in my new flat, I build myself a case with wood panels from school tables that I found in the trash:

It is three Megadrones wide, and I plan to add two more rows, so I guess I have some time before I fill it up…

Also, I finally had the time to publish the video of my keyboard:

My VCO really needs a good tuning…
And my workbench really needs a cleanup…

Fixed My Yamaha DX27,

It was making no sound and I followed the advice on 8-Bit Guys DX100 repair and got similar results. I replaced the OP AMP but it still did not work.

I did a little more digging and found the input to the second op-amps NO2 Input, followed back to the NO1 input. But when I toned the tracks It was dead. I got a spy glass out and found the tiniest of hairline cracks in the PCB across there traces. I bridged the gap. But on reassembly the display was now dead. But audio did work!! The display issue was traced to broken wire at the PCB for the display power ( all the install/remove/install/remove must have weakend it ) with that fixed I now have a fully operational DX27 for £60…

I can use this to test the MIDI-CV. I could use the Korg 01W but I don’t want to lug that home from my workshop.
