My build progress

Just finished. The 5 channel mixer by Niklas Rönnberg with 2 outputs. On Monday I can finally start building my first rack. I’m so excited to see how it all looks when it’s in the rack!

Made some custom banana cables, non stackable, but great for tighter spots!

@Bitnik May be interested in this.

14 cables in varying lengths with the wire and connectors added up, they’re a little over a buck a cable!

yeah Cat5 is a waste of time, breaks before you have it working…

OOOOhhhhhhhh, like OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH…

There is something magical about a nice cable, It’s like a nice sheet of 18MM Ply from the DIY Shop…

A BC557B is a BC557C with lower gain range (hFE 200-450 instead of 420-800). A BC559C is a low-noise version of a BC557C. Pretty sure both would work just fine, but without looking at the schematics the BC559C is a slightly safer choice.

Finished up the Liquid Foam today!

Just need to build a case… lol.
Took it over to my buddies to take measurements.
So hopefully soon!

To be honest, I have no idea what can be patched in or out of this thing… lolol
I am scared to cross patch it with anything else other than its clock in and out…

Totally fair. I would be too.

Today I practiced a bit with my new TS100 iron and some protoboard and made a few breadboard powerheaders.

The board was a nightmare to work with - a 5 pack for 5 bucks at Microcenter, though I have no frame of reference since the only thing I’ve soldered on is the stripboard from Tayda which is lovely. I’m assuming it’s the nature of protoboard that it requires a lot of cleanup with a wick, as the solder just would not stay on the damn pads.

The iron is neat, although the ergonomics are a bit weird. The power lead is pretty stiff and I dropped the iron on my desk for the first time. Luckily no damage. Better the desk than my lap. I’ve seen some mods using silicone tattoo gun power connector on eBay which will be a good upgrade. I don’t find it to be an earth shattering upgrade from the $17 dollar iron I got off Amazon tho. Maybe some more practice is required.

Teaser no. 3

Not spectacular, but I added a few LEDs for signalling and an opto coupler and DIN connector for midi control.

.

This is not the final setup, just one that makes it easier to experiment with the project’s soft- and hardware.

Is there anyone reading this who knows his way in connecting a display, preferably with the resolution of a (not too modern) smart phone, to an STM32-like MCU?

Finally got that doorstop added. Works like a charm. I didn’t have to do any modification to the MikroKosmos.

I also added a pair of VLPGs.

Gettin close to finished with the Fourses.

I made a case/enclosure for it out of an old backgammon set that I found at a thrift store today.

Almost finished ! Sam’s simple PT2399 delay. I thought I would design the panel a little differently than usual. The top potentiometer in the clock is for “Time”, the middle one is for “Feedback” and the one below is for “Mix”

Now its time to go to bed, started this morning at 7am…

I like the use of symbols on the panel.

No progress for me, been taking a break ( since I am off for a week )…

Avoided most synth related stuff and tried to be productive elsewhere. Done work on cars, helped out an acquaintance to collect and install pallet racking, built a custom shelf unit in the kitchen ( synth spilling on to that…) … Sorting surface rust on my van today…

Back to normal work tomorrow, hopefully have some PCB’s in the post and after Adays work “syntherapy” may be in order… Kids back to education this week so even more normality…

It’s funny that all these Power Distro/Bus boards have popped up -
Been thinking about this one for a while and it was sitting half finished in my files for like a month now lol.

fμ-Bus

The idea behind it is that it is completely flat and can be installed with something like double sided tape.
