There certainly is interest
My brother got them from a vending machine in Japan, they’re officially license Korg products from Bandai. Search ebay, looks like there’s a few listings.
Edit: These were way cheaper in the vending machine lol
An actual Korg Monotron is cheaper than the eBay prices.
Happy Christmas everybody, looking forward to seeing all your Mail Days.
Oh they had Roland (jupiter 8 & 808 iirc) ones in the gachapon machines a few weeks ago. but it was 50/50 getting a synth or a guitar amp. Not odds I was willing to take at 400yen a pop
Would’ve totally been in on Korg though.
just pick up some drywall stilts. far more practical
I built another instrumentation amplifier cascade, this time for my third modular, the Analogmonster Modular. Each stage is a DC coupled cascadable mono amlifier of U(out) = -9.09 * U(in), used for amplification of weak DC or AC signals, e. g. low leveled outputs of other instruments.
My mental lp/bp/hp filter helps me working too slow on my projects. Made a rush with the MFOS 32-step sequenzer and just have the connections from the pcb to panel left.
Got pcb’s for the PE Microsynth, not the Minisonic. It looks more fun the Minisonic though it seems to be simpler.
Still got to work my way through all the modules and adjust and trim them all.
And finally, decided to build two Noise Toasters for my granddaughters. With an added PT2933 echo and some kind of sequencer or CGS’s Psycho LFO.
It took me over a year since finishing my first module (the VCO) to finally have the basic set of VCO, VCF, VCA, envelope and sequencer. The VCF was the last module I built and I love the sound of it (to quote my brother: “sounds like Cyberpunk”). I also added an RT-65B as power supply to my case and bought a proper oscilloscope. Now I have to decide what to build next, an LFO and a Midi-to-CV interface (for my Midi keyboard) are on the top of my list. But I’m open to suggestions what would be good next steps.
Modulation, so definitely an LFO or two, a noise source, maybe another envelope generator to modulate the PWM, pitch or VCA separate from the filter envelope. Also another VCO to detune against the first for a fat sound.
Yeah, I already miss having a second envelope to have independent control of the cutoff and attenuator, so that‘s also on the list. But I‘m curious about the noise source suggestion. I know it can be used with sample and hold for randomized CVs or as part of a snare sound. What other usages does it have, I‘m not aware of, for you to suggest it?
Use it as a sound source into the filter for snare or percussion sounds or just to swoosh around with an LFO into the filter CV and a noise source. Simplest noise source is the electric druid Noise 2 chip, pink and white noise from a single chip and buffer it with an opamp
been patiently waiting for this one! Good work
Wow! It’s builds like this that make me grin. Bravo!
Is that an accordion bass section???
You’re welcome. I like making people smile
