My build progress

I was reading a book by prof. Brian Cox today, and it gave me an idea…

Programmed up a quick planetary motion simulation, might make for a nice chaotic LFO

Had the same idea with a Lorenz attractor simulator. I think this could be interesting

I’ve been toying with the same idea actually. The only thing holding me back was the price of analog multipliers. Though I know there’s one in the LM13700 datasheet as well.

Great minds? I had the same-ish idea as a portamento, but I didn’t quite work as well as I’d hoped.

There’s no need to concern yourself with the nosebleed price of the MPY634, because no one has it in stock anyway. Mouser expects to get some at the end of July. Of next year.

But you could probably sub an AD633, and DigiKey has the DIP version in stock for only $17 and change!

Yeah AD633 would be my multiplier of choice. Still rather pricy, as you’d need two:

But knowing myself, I’d probably end up building it anyway.

One thing I liked about the orbital mechanics is the possibility of the planets orbiting each other. That should result in the superposition of a low and higher freq signal, which I don’t think the Lorenz system can do. A digital implementation with a small round screen showing the orbits would look rather cool I think.

Anyway…

I am now envisioning a Pams module using this as the menu display…

Bah! Im giving up on the snare for now lol. It sort of works very faintly but it could just be the trigger in im hearing and theres some sort of other clicky stuff going on untill I touch the ground plane =/

Ill probs rebuild it at some point and see if I get the same results. Haha!
Suppose ill move onto doing a hihat module and mull it over

invasion of the MicroKosmos .

Again !
They already invaded me a long time ago (although the upside down variant) !

I only have one! Sadly no spring variant. I’m at a loss to think of what I’d use five for.

When you can’t play ANY musical instruments, any input device is good to take… :stuck_out_tongue:
(my case, I don’t know about @devicex…)

Didn’t notice the spring… may have to try that, saw many spring boxes on the net…

the JLPCB minimum . going to give a couple to my buddy who helps me out and I have a collection of different instruments / mics I would like to plug in and run through the Morphagene and the Monsoon [ clouds ] modules plus other horrible experiments .

Got a simple HH and Snare module built. Along with the Big Button and Clock Divider I finished today can get a fun jam going now. Starting to appreciate the usefulness of Vactrols. TripleT tom module didn’t work it has fried it’s 4069 chip. VCLFO not even close to working. AR module not tested yet. The pile of non working modules is getting too large . Baby8 is needed ASAP for more fun jams I think!

Oh and I really need to colour my patch cables somehow

These were a super cheap job lot on eBay of aux cables but all 4ft long and black

I have to admit, I didnt like having multi colored cables at first. Now I’m really glad - its so much easier to keep track of what is going on when you color code.

Yes exactly by the time I had finished playing I had no idea what was plugged into what

maybe some colored tape on the ends , paint tends to stay " tacky " on plastic like that .
the modules look great !
