Today I visited my sister and she gave me this lamp as a present.

Finally I will be able to make some proper ambient music !

Fixed my VCA and had a play today, still need to properly calibrate the LFO and H/LPF.
glad i got the thing working it was a simple fix too. Replace a TL072 and a couple 10r’s easy peasy!

Alright, quantiser taking shape. I have a nice little bug in the firmware (I need to add hysteresis to the quantization process), maybe I add an option to turn it on and of

That’s def a feature that should be toggleable, not a bug!

I can see where you got the tape deck from, it says Radio Shack on it. But from where, oh where, did you obtain that cassette?

Both from the same garage sale. Whole box of cassettes, including this set.

My AD633 -based ring modulator worked on the first try. Only thing that would need slight adjustment is that the holes for the jacks are bigger than needed. But better that than to have holes for pots too small… AGAIN.

It has taken a while, but I have published a 1st version of Euclid-O-Matic’s software. The schematics will be added at a later time.

Euclid-O-Matic is based on a project called ‘Euclidean Rhythm Generator Kosmo/Eurorack’ published by L. J. Brackney (@Hypergyaos) of Suncoast Polytechnical High School, dated 11/21/2021. I saw it on instructables.com and here in this discourse group. I liked it a lot and decide to make my own version of the module.

While doing so I changed the hardware and the software (quite) a bit. Work on this started
in January 2022.

Amongst others I added support for:

  • external clock in and clock out,
  • 4 function CV inputs,
  • variable pattern length,
  • patch storage and recall,
  • recall of settings on startup,
  • a reset input.

Using the F-1 … F-4 CV inputs the patterns can be shifted stepwise.

I still haven’t put mine behind a panel lol.

If you add a jack to the glide pin (normalled to 5v) it lets you turn glide on and off with CV.

Have fun with it and let us hear how it sounds!

I did realize that glide is supposed to be a switch after I drilled a hole for the jack. :man_facepalming: I’ll save that for another day.

Recordings coming “soon”

Just a stupid loop and a drone, but I’m getting to be quite pleased with the noisy textures that come out of this machine now.

Did you post a link to a recording? I’m only seeing the site.

Edit. Hearing it now. Nice snare, sounds like a military band.
