Me, making a normal module with like at most 10 resistors: “Damn, that’s the wrong value.”
Looks at this thing:
That’s a random 4mm thick plastic sheet I have found somewhere (I can’t remember where).
No need to be bullet proof ? I though plastic sheet was pretty cheap.
That depends where you are playing…
I make some test for my modification idea and report this in the ISD1820 Sampler Looper thread
“Don’t shoot the piano player”, Korg style.
Or move your ears ?! I think people use them way to seldomly.
Good lord. This is incredible. Your build skills constantly level up.
“Internal wiring” complete.
Now for 16 touch nodes, 4 buttons, output, and piezos.
Still waiting on my 4051 IC’s.
Why are these wires not implemented as tracks on the pcb? Is this to emphasize the organic nature of the circuit?
Why do we only see the upper part of the singer, is that because someone is doing the thing people do to Spanish bulls before they go into the arena?
I first made my panels out of plexiglass and quickly realized that it was way too brittle. There are many options, but it is not well suited for them.
It looks nice, but I was always afraid that the panels would break when I plugged in the jacks.
It always bent a lot.
because it is a direct conversion of the prototype that absolutely nobody but Peter currently knows how to wire and we as a team (in the ciat lonbarde diy groups) are in the process of discovering how it works.
Also worth mentioning - even when he converted them back in the day himself - he left the quadrants hanging as they were all originally single layer boards that were hand etched -
The plan is for the final revision of the board - to have all of the star nodes internally wired.
Over time - this prototype eventually became what he released as the Tetrax Organ (as well as the Sidrax, and Quatrax)
I just tried, but that’s not easy to bend a 4mm thick sheet ;p
Ahh, okay, mine was 2mm thick!
Looks very similar in layout to my gate-2-trigger .
Nice work.
Somewhat amazed all the holes for the banana sockets did not cause the wood to split. looks fab
