That’s a good looking panel!

Today I added a power supply and distribution rails to racks 4 and 5 (top two 19 inch enclosures here).

Yes, although it’s not specific to MFOS; my first use was on a Haraldswerk board.

Another 10 in production right now…

Here’s an updated pic of mine. I’ve dumped the individual wine crates I had, as there was five and the whole thing was getting a bit big. So I took all the Kosmo modules out and put into one big cabinet. Also I bought some cool metal brackets for my patch cables. They are vintage medical spreaders for keeping you open while they operate on you. Nice!

Used ones ? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m trying to find out which pin is 1 of this SOIC packaged TL074 quad opamp. Normally I wouldn’t use the text orientation as a lead, but there is little else here:

The small indent in the middle on the left side is very similar to the indent on the right, so I’m at a loss here. Anyone?

From the ST datasheet:

One edge should be beveled, and that is the edge pin 1 is on. Certainly not obvious from the picture but maybe from another angle you can tell — if I had to go by this I’d say it looks like the top edge in your picture is the beveled one.

Isn’t the pin 1 always on the bottom left corner when you have the text correctly aligned ? I don’t think I ever saw a case where it wasn’t like that…

Never trusted the text. In my experience its never been any guarantee

I was going to say the same, but decided my experience isn’t necessarily conclusive. I don’t know – the beveled edge is the official designator, and the bottom edge above doesn’t look beveled to me. But hard to tell.

Here’s a photo of another ST 074:

There the beveled edge clearly is in agreement with the text. But I wouldn’t count on it always being so.

Added: This says it’s basically always so:

Yep, I agree with you, but looking at @Jos’s photo, it’s hard to tell that there is a beveled edge on either side (actually both look beveled for me).
We need answer @Jos ! ;p

It is visible once you know what to look for, this beveled edge. I noticed that there is a difference in angle of the casing, I found this is also called a chamfer by some people. Thx.

The picture is taken from a microscope which is looking right down on the chip, and still it is difficult to discern. But there indeed is a beveled edge / chamfer.

Displayed in this orientation it is clearly visible.
