Hey ! Just finished a MIDI to CV box. (I closed it and it is still working, happy days !).
I used info and schematic present on this topic.
I have a project coming. I want to build a DFAM clone (without the patch bay).
I opted for 2 AS3340 VCO, MS20 style filter (easy HF-LF option) dual VCA from Sam and 3 AD-AR enveloppe generator and a distortion. I found the arduino sequencer from @analogoutput that would add a nice twist to it with the different pattern length and the random option.
