It’s a very very simple circuit and would be easy enough to do on stripboard or protoboard. If you like wiring panel components. On the PCB the pots are board mounted but they’re only 21 mm apart, pretty tight for Kosmo.
oh cool I haven’t looked in awhile so they are selling them . thanks for the info , good luck on the project I am sure you will come up with some nice tweaks for the BMC 078 .
I forget breadboards are white.
Most I have are that yellow to beigey brown.
Now a desirable retro patina!
This is the toxic 80’s pallet that takes a hardcore step towards colouring any project that authentic Been there, Burnt that in unsafe hands vibe.
So cool.
So, you know the drill. These hen’s teeth won’t last forever!**
(Serious offers only)
I have a project coming. I want to build a DFAM clone (without the patch bay).
I opted for 2 AS3340 VCO, MS20 style filter (easy HF-LF option) dual VCA from Sam and 3 AD-AR enveloppe generator and a distortion. I found the arduino sequencer from @analogoutput that would add a nice twist to it with the different pattern length and the random option.
Here is the case (empty for now)
Oops, accidentally filled my 3rd case and I have more stuff I want to build and probably should… I’m particularly proud of the panel design on my Atari Punk Module and tuner.
Good point. I don’t really know how to use Audacity that well…so here is a raw clip of me messing around for 30 minutes or so. Mostly just with one of the built in sequences on my KeyStep.
Uploading all of my various clips to Sound Cloud, too.
Cool sounds !
Always happy to hear sounds coming out of these beasts whose constructions we have followed here, like a real birth, because the primary goal I think is to make music/noise… with it.
So always surprised to see the lack of sound testing and experimentation on the forum, compared to all the members and the kilos of modules built.
Thank you! It really is what brings the things to life. I’ve floated around a lot with photography. It’s kind of the same thing there, gear acquisition syndrome.
I don’t record with it nearly enough. I think my problem is I love building things, I just don’t know what to do with it when I am done! I have a few more musically inclined friends and I really want to see what they can do with it. I will definitely try to post more on that thread, too!
There is NOTHING wrong with that. If you’re doing what you enjoy, what’s the problem?
Stradivari built violins. And played some, presumably, but no one told him “Nice fiddles, now stop building for a while and make some music with them.”
There’s nothing wrong with that. Presumably the expert designers of instruments were more adept at marketing musical instruments than they were at writing music given that’s what they were know by. I’d still like to hear a Moog as a musical composition. I would take a guess that the more wild the instrument design the more likely it was inspired by the workings of an artist and less of a marketer and probably won’t be making too many to sell. We have people who do both here. So I don’t think it’s a one or the other but rather people master many fields around here.
I’m listening to the Modular Experiement 20220213 while I type and I’m enjoying it very much!
