I really really like this idea of sequencer. How would you build something like this?
With an arduino, magnets and Hall effect sensors?

Magnets are clearly involved, but there’s a pair of tricks that seem to influence effects here, rotating the puck and stacking two together. (As i understand it, both could be detected with a hall effect sensor, tuning must be pretty touchy)
I thought a while ago (but never pursued) it’d be really cool to make that kind of stuff with computer vision, to perform more unique interfaces than a step sequencer.
A whole pile of AS5600 magnetic rotation sensors?
I’m sure with the right Hall effect sensors mounted 90 degrees to each other, two for each square you could work a lower resolution much cheaper and maybe less hassle than multiplexing that many i2c devices?
