Module requests

Maybe a KOSMO version of the Befaco output modules V3 and the new one just offered by Synthcube.

Dont see too many Morphagene clones out there…

I’ve been looking at euro pi and some other multi-purpose modules. I think Kosmo needs more development/play space,no?

I was thinking about how to put cheap, DIY version of a chiptune tracker in a Kosmo. The answer appeared to be using a small development board a Kosmo and install a tracker on it. The Euro-Pi consists of 2 boards. One that carries the pi-pico and some analog circuitry. The other deals with the IO. There are two 8-pin header blocks connecting the 2 boards. It shouldn’t be too difficult to make a dedicated IO-board for KOSMO size racks with the same interfacing to the ā€˜pico + analog circuitry board’ as in the original design. In that way you need not redesign the whole thing. @TimMJN and I have done something similar in 2022 for an envelope follower I made for eurorack. TimMJN then designed an adaptation board for KOSMO bridging the gap / bringing two worlds together.

Any chance of the big mixer anytime soon?:grin::grin:

Hi Sam, do you have plans to release any new modules in the near future? If so, which modules are in the works?
I am getting back to building DIY modules, and it would be a shame to spend my time building something that quickly will be replaced by one of your terrific modules!

I’d love to see some sort of delay similar to the Befaco ā€œcrush delayā€ that can do fun digital glitchy repeating madness.

the triple splashback does similar. it runs on 3 of the pt2399 chips. i think the crush delay has one (not saying more is better, more is different), the slowest delay goes into ā€œgarbage modeā€ but the garbage mode is 3 times garbage wit the 3 chips. both delays in their own right! but i think the splashback somewhat matches the description

Now if only I could get you to stock them. :eyes: I’ve been checking the shop literally daily for your restock to happen

Although I think the crush delay has some sort of (up to) 2-second buffer that you can play with as well.

More pt2399s might not be ā€œbetterā€ … but more delay modules is.

Not the same as the Befaco module, but also a lot of fun: Time-Warp-O-Matic.

I suddenly have lock-in amps on the mind for some reason!

Was there a sampler that used lock-amp tech as a recording or in line filter but I it seems a lot of work for recording but fun for envelopes etc.

I haven’t yet seen a good explanation of how a lock-in amp is useful in synthesis… normally used to pick up a periodic signal in the presence of noise, not sure how you’d use that.

You can use a lock amp setup like an auto tap tempo signal when playing with tape backing tracks. With no time track or tracking you could isolate a beat in the tape’s mixed audio and track it. Reliable? No. It’s fiddly as F. But as a source for an unusual trigger etc it might be fun.
Useful? No.
Still interesting though.

Any chance the mini-mixers will make a comeback in the store?

Hi, will the big Matrix-Mixer from the Portokosmo-Video make it to the Shop? Or are anywhere hints where to find the schematics to build it by myself?
