For some reason all my deliveries from China are being delayed…

I need to look at my BOM’s for the cosmo modules as almost everything is here anyway.

Waiting on something BIG and tasty ariving hopefully tomorrow.

Coronavirus is causing a lot of problems to the status quo in China. People have to be extremely careful just to order food out. They are shaking feet instead of hands.

There is nothing to suggest that things we receive from China will be harmful. It’s still too early to know 100%, but usually these sorts of viruses do not survive on surfaces after a few days.

be carefull, there’s a new deutch study, who said that this virus can survive outside between 3 and 9 day !!!

No problem, my PCBs took nearly a week just to get from Shenzhen to Hong Kong!

78L05 now arrived, that’s everything bar the power headers for the frequency central PSU. May build it tomorrow…

This also came through the letter box.

it takes 3 to 6 weeks to get anything here from china , so defiantly longer than 9 days . though I don’t have the cash to buy anything now anyways . but I do have a bunch of modules that need to be tested and calibrated and parts to finish a few others .

Oddly my Molex Crimping is not too successful, the wire gauge is fine, the tool is fine but I seem to be getting poor connections. I have not had a good look, but it’s anoying for something so simple.

sorry to hear that . I did buy a more expensive ratcheting pair and they sucked the crimp surfaces were flat . but on these you can see [hopefully] the grooves have dimples in the center and the punch part has a cupped surface they work much better. these are Iwiss brand [ iws-2820m] . the were about 18.00 $ usd .

I just saw the circuit board holder. Is that not the greatest? I don’t think I’ve ever had another piece of equipment that inexpensive make as much of a difference in my bench time!

Me caveman me use tape. Me think tape work, but what me know.

I have one of those, I wish it were better built but at that price wishing’s about all one could do. Anyway it works and is great for through hole work.

For surface mount and certain through hole components like IC sockets, my preferred tool is a blob of Silly Putty.

Absolutely 100% recommend!!

In 1 day it completely changed my workflow lol.
