Maybe this is the thread that convinces me that vinyl records have found a new niche as collectibles. I assume nobody in their right mind would put a severely damaged vinyl disc under a stylus. The exact same sounds encoded in vinyl can instead be stored and transmitted in lossless format to anywhere on the surface the globe that has access to cellular telephony, and the aural experience once decoded will invariably be much better and can be losslessly archived as insurance against degradation of the primary copy.
In other words: let the flame wars start ?!
Or let the flame wars go over here
Sorry, I didn’t mean to cause any upsets. I used vinyl when it was the only game in town for high fidelity, and this experience has informed my view of the medium.
then put this in every single one of your tracks and you will have my full attention…
^ this is actually a huge part of what attracts me to vinyl.
Aside from the beautiful artwork - the mesmerizing aspect of the Vinyl itself, especially while spinning, among many other reasons
I appreciate it, but I think the best option if you really want one is going to be Discogs. Several copies are up for sale.
Sometimes, imperfections are ok .
finally, some more inputs!
not top of the line, i know, but it fits my needs quite well for now. lightly used Mackie 1202VLZ4 from a seller on reverb.
That’s a perfectly good mixer!
Nice! I love my little Mackie. Gets the job done.
This community dont give a shit if its top of the line, as long as it does what you need it to.
