I went and looked at my order and I bought the wrong switches! The guy had them listed as “on-off-on momentary” and I read it as “on-off-(on)” but they are “(on)-off-(on).” I’ve now ordered some from the UK.
A used Ladik Easy Quantizer arrived today:
Nothing that interesting turning up, waiting for the LFO chip from Druid…
The Crave I ordered last week isn’t changing in the tracker. Perhaps we’re entering a phase in the UK where distribution networks are being hit by sensible staff precautions.
I’m waiting on the MS-1 i ordered, same thing on the tracker for me too, shows that it’s been picked up but that has been the same for last few days, (i know the weekend is probably not the best time for deliveries though)
=> Update
parcelforce tracker shows that my MS-1 will probably be here tomorrow
I’m also desperately waiting for parts for Sam’s Valve VCA from musikding.de (german shop), but so far nothing is moving…
edit: They just told me that they have posted it!
I ordered some of the jacks boards before looking more closely and realizing they were laid out for jacks similar to but not quite the same as jacks I have or can easily get. DOH.
So I drew up a modified version for Thonkiconn jacks. KiCad files and Gerbers are here:
They’re untested, I’m just ordering these now, conceivably there could be something wrong with them so caveat downloader!
cool I have a large selection of different jacks, If none of them fit i’ll just have to adapt them to fit
I received a 5 pin DIN cable I ordered last week, and played around with it by connecting the MIDI out of the Rock Band 3 keyboard to the MIDI in of the Chromatone CT-312. All the bits worked. I could send modulation and pitch-bend, switch from one voice to another, switch octave, and so on.
Nothing…
I need to tidy my component store and work out whats outstanding. Got time on my hands…

The Crave finally arrived this morning. We left our front porch open and the courier just left the box there.
It’s everything I expected and more. I’ve only just begun to explore its features, but already I’m very impressed with the comfortingly solid feel of this thing. Despite its small size it’s no frisbee. Firmware update was painless using the synthtool app from the Behringer website.
I plugged my Rock Band 3 keyboard in via the MIDI in port and started playing. The VCO range is dramatic, going from LFO-like bumps up to a pitch that made Neve the greyhound somewhat nervous. The filter sounds simply gorgeous and the glide knob gives a bewitching portamento. I haven’t even touched on the arpeggiator or the sequencer yet.
I think behringer is crushin it right now. I got the pro-1 and it’s the most fun Ive ever had with one piece of gear. I want the crave and the neutron too haha
Oh, that Neutron is one amazing piece of gear. I know Hainbach doesn’t like Behringer for “not having any soul” but I think their originals-like the Crave and the Neutron-have plenty of personality and tons of utility. If I had room I’d probably get a DeepMind too-it was down to that or the Mopho, and Dave Smith is just too cool not to have on the top tier of the stand.
Thanks @CTorp for sending those switches, got them in the mail yesterday.
This arrived, it’s made my brain hurt trying to work through even a fraction of the functions…
I am going to have to do some proper learning to play.
I think I prefer this to the T3 I bought. It’s certainly lighter!
(Arrived Monday but I left it untouched a couple days.)
LOL same on my function generator but I haven’t found the gumption to figure out what went wrong and reorder.
