Mail Day Thread

A couple nanos for the ardiuno glitch storm experiments, hardware bits, piezos, mic recievers for lo-fi sampler. Looking forward to a few uninterrupted days of sweet solder fumes.

A board and twin VU meters for building a yusynth voltage controlled stereo panning mixer. I intend on using it as a final stage and it will allow for trippy panning effects!

Get a load of how it looks completed with the VUs! Obviously I’ll be doing my own kosmo format front panel.

I found this lovely big 45cm x 31cm x 15cm lockable aluminium flight case on eBay for £24 shipping free. I ordered it yesterday and it unexpectedly arrived this morning. Shown here with the Neutron for which it’s intended. It’s a tight fit but I’m happy with it.

Look what Sa… err the DHL guy delivered about an hour ago !

@analogoutput’s PowerBus, Quantizer Panel, and @d42kn355’s blank.

@analogoutput’s PSU, dac/ino (for Quantizer), “inverted” MikroKosmos PCB+Panel.
And my own Proto Panel with sooo many holes
That’s so I can mount up to 4 pots, two switches, and 10 jacks (not all at the same time), with LEDs for some of them, while prototyping.
(The square PCB is not intended for synth…)

Merry XMas !

Love that book. Working through it is a superb exercise. It’s a very intuitive learning environment.

It’s even better than I thought. There is room for both of my Behringer synthesisers, Crave and the Neutron, with their power cables and a heap of 3.5mm patch cables. Not bad for the price.

I’ve been through computer hell the past week or so. My production computer died so I ended up having to build a new one. It seems 95% of the cases these days all have disco lights, which I don’t get or care about, but whatever…now I have an all-night disco in my studio. I’ve built all of my workstations but this one was ridiculous because I had to find a work around for the cpu liquid cooling vent as no one seems to make a case where your RAM slots are not obstructed by the vent and fans. Corsair even sells a case, RAM, and liquid cooling system that are not compatible with one another. It’s just stuuuuupid!

Then, installing my music software took literally 4 days and I’m still not done getting everything setup and functional. :persevere: At least I am back online…

And wait for it…the disco party shot! :joy:

Disco lights? Count yourself lucky!

Mine died this year too, but thankfully I had leftover parts all around to make something work. Music production isn’t that bad a task thankfully so my older tech with like an i3 and such will do me until I get around to it. The thing was an arcade, so it had a micro atx style case. No disco though thankfully, flashy lights are a no go for me.

Mine randomly changes every color of the rainbow. Get up in the middle of the night and my house looks like the Darth Vader scene from rogue one:

yeah the light up shit is a no go . yes reloading all the plug in software is a pain , remembering where you got it then downloading and making sure the licensing is in order .

Since it was taking me a while to do that, i just ended up making a bookmark folder to organize my music setup plugins etc so i would have them next time.

yeah same here . saved the original zip files they came in too , so they would be easy to open and load and not have to worry about the down load limit on some items . stuff is also doubled on a back up drive.
