welcome all …
just started this thread to try and bring together links to resources especially beginners .
Yeah, I don’t get that. Once you set it up, aren’t you still just doing commit and push? It’s the same interface no matter which site is hosting. Which is the best thing really.
Working with the repo locally it’s all the same.
But the web tools are a mess for bitbucket. And I have to use those to do things like manage our team. Manage merges and a few other tasks. The merging really got confusing lately. We have rules on our repos master branches that any merges have to be approved by at least one committer (along with a few other checks) - but lately it’s not recognizing it when I approve things before merging…or at least it says the merge doesn’t have enough approvals even though it shows my approval…but then it goes ahead and does the merge anyway. Just…lots of little things like that which bug me.
For day to day pulling/pusing/branching/merging in my own branches locally…yeah it’s all the same on all of them.
Just a friendly reminder that this thread is for introductions, not repo management .
And there is a thread for repo management
Hey, I’m Joel, I live in the US. I make a lot of music under a number of pseudonyms, but lately, I’ve just been using my full name, Joel Kynan. Since the quarantine started, I got inspired by sams youtube channel to try and make sound-making devices myself. I’m mostly new to it, I used to circuit bend in high school but never got very good at it. Glad to be a part of this community
Hi everyone,
I am Jules, I live in brussels, Belgium.
I am a 34 yo sound engineer.
I’ve been building some of my gear for about 15 years and recently started building a Kosmo synth!
The idea is to have a fun, performable synth in my studio for people to be inspired.
The large format is nice, I will interface it to some eurorack modules to have a good palette of basic sounds.
At this stage I have 2 performance VCOs, one filter, one vca mixer, one buffered multiple and one 6ch mixer.
Next up are the Safety Valve, a double AD/AR, switched multiple and the Filter GRR.
Cheers!
Welcome, buddy!!! Glad to see you here.
Sounds like you’re well on your way! Welcome.
Thanks! This is exciting
Grumpy old (67 yo) Swede. Been working with construction of electronic equipment, developing furniture production in Russia, and the last 10 years built fire hatches.
Started with electronics and NOISE back in the late 60’s and was on my way to build the PE PsychTone.
Today I use too much time by the PC trying to find new modules for my modular synth that is supposed to be the heart in my amateur “studio” together with a Moog Concertmate MG-1, Polivoks, Anushri and a Crave (and two Soundlabs).
However, after some almost fatal heart arrests, I am very much in procrastination mode, but I try heard to get at least the Moog and Polivoks back together after fiddling with them (swapping bad components).
I am no expert but I know what I like and I will share you ideas and projects with ya little by little.
Apart for NOISE I am very much into HiFi … many of my projects end up om my website:

welcome here @Soundbrigade
Edit : nice website !!!
I like the shape of those heatsinks on your theremin board. As you say they probably do the job, but they’re not your usual boring heatsinks.
love the colors. well done!
Hello I realised I should have said hi before asking for help
My name is Chris, I am a sound recordist / sound assistant in the UK. I like to make droney ambient noises as bone music on Band Camp and have a small YouTube channel where I talk about all sorts of sound related things (and small bikes).
I want to understand electronics better and I want to build more things. I’m a novice but I’ve done a few small things like a bivert and backlight mod for my gameboy, a couple of distortion circuits for my synth and a bit of light Furby bothering :). I’m planning a build based around the AAAPPPCCC before I dive in to modular
It is only a matter of time for such practises to either lead to a major scandal still OR be passed as permitted as long as they happened more than 100 years ago (similar to trading in ivory etc.).
Met an American in Sydney years ago who introduced himself and said he’d been looking forward to meeting me as he had heard we were both “Benders” and he’d pictures I should see.
Edit: its a uk thing
But Koko enjoyed it! I brought him back from the dead!
Hey, this is great! I’ve built some loudspeakers and I stumbled onto your site before, great stuff.
Welcome!
