Which is your favorite?
Excellent ! maybe the â06 - Ironing Board Guitarâ
A friend, exchange student from Ohio, back then always said to me:
Letâs go to that underground club again and get our asses kicked by the little punk girls wearing army boots.
With this song DAF wanted to demystify the names and break taboos but people often misunderstood and thought they were fascists.
And then I somehow ended up in a video with two Chinese girls dancing to Giorgio Moroderâs remix of DAFâs Der Mussolini, a video that had a preroll ad consisting of a Fury Road ripoff/pastiche with the soundtrack featuring Kanye West sampling King Crimsonâs 21st Century Schizoid Man. Thatâs enough mixed media for me today, I think.
So the band Rymdreglage, who made the legendary 8-bit trip many years ago, resurfaced on YouTube earlier this year after a multi-year break. I watched their news update, after which YouTube of course started feeding me early Rymdreglage videos. Todayâs suggestion: a piece of Scandinavian social realism, called âWhen the synthesizer came to the villageâ.
âTechno unite and spread happiness!â
Undoubtedly the greatest RC-505 artist we have, but I cannot help finding him a bit repetitive. Then I go listen to his pirate song, especially the crowd panic bit, and allâs forgiven.
thatâs our karaoke warm up song
Thanks for reminding me this exists. We got some real friday jams.
Now i know what im listening to for my prep kosmonut music project. Psychedelic and Prog rock just lends to spacey themes well.
