Loved this series, maybe planning a visit when this virus is over.
I absolutely LOVE Lamb! I marketed their debut album back in the 90’s and ended up flying over to see them at V97 and again a couple of years later at Shepherds Bush in London. True story, Lamb is the reason I started dating my now wife. The first thing I always did when I met someone was ask to see their music collection. If there was rap, country, or r&b then I was out. (I say this with a straight face. I am not afraid to admit that I am a music snob. It’s my life.) So when I went through my wife’s collection she had the debut Lamb record. I freaked out about it and that was it. We talk about it still to this day. LOL
Everyone probably knows Sigur Ros, but I have been listening to them a lot lately. They have always been one of my favorite bands. They are amazing live if you get a chance to see them. This song is quite different than the rest of their work but I absolutely love it and have had this song and the Takk record on repeat for days.
Here’s another favorite track live. Man…they’re just fucking amazing!
Coincidence? I found an original copy of that debut album 4 years ago while i was on a business trip in Australia. Since that moment, I’m collecting vinyl again.
Vinyl actually has the best sound of all the formats and retains the most detail, despite what others might say. I have a story and experience about that which literally blew my mind. I’ll post it on the vinyl thread discussion.
Most of King Gizzards’ work is pretty unreal from a production standpoint, but PMDB never ceases to blow me away with how powerful acoustic sounds are, and this is coming from a guy who lives and breaths bleep-bloops.
Last time Sam gave Kosmo a body he stole the Sinclair and drowned himself at the beach. It looks like this time Sam learned the lesson and he’s keeping Kosmo in a cage now. (It doesn’t seem to dampen Kosmo’s spirits though.)
I saw this in my feed this morning, better than coffee!
ELEH - Living Space
it’s minimalisimo!
best played loud with headphones.
This guy kept cropping up in books and articles I was reading about other bands I’m interested in, so bought this album.
synth / punk , why not . different is great , thanks for sharing .
i dig it
weird, reminds me a bit of Edward Ka-Spel (Legendary Pink Dots)
In my youth I was something of a Michael Moorcock fan. I only stopped when I realised that I could never read fast enough to catch up with the rate at which he writes.
This track is based on his Jerry Cornelius stories but it’s on a Hawkwind album based on the stories of the same author’s character Elric of Melniboné. This video of a live show with albino giant Elric leaping around with his whacking great soul-sucking sword while the group sing about needleguns makes me indescribably happy.
