I’m new to this and about to start in on building a couple more Kosmo cases (84cm x 44cm x 20cm) which raises some questions:
If I stack them, are they at risk of falling over?
Are there clever ways of locking them together? (Temporarily, not screws/bolts)
What do you do on tiered cases?

I’m currently looking at patches which could work. I am hoping for something lower profile.
You might want to consider a configuration sort of like @ChristianBloch showed us in the
thread if you haven’t gotten too far. If you plan to go straight up you’ll need some at least semi-permanent means of either attaching them to a wall or putting some rear support. There are various pull latches that might work for keeping them together, but there’s still an aspect of permanence to their attachment.

Great ideas. Thanks!
I do want the cases separate for portability or I’d do something beautiful like @ChristianBloch did. Genuinely jealous. My first level (only 20cm or so high) will have an angle to it widening the footprint a little. The other two cases will be the usual 84x44x20cm.
I’m thinking something like these butteryfly latches might do the job. Or maybe something like this (in black).
My case will be against a wall. I’m thinking of adding some rubber feet or some kind of bumper to the back to prevent it leaning on the power jacks. I’ve also got some nice low-profile handles and rubber feet for moving them around. I’d like some portability.

If you recess the modules a little into the case, you could do a flight case-type deal with two cases and some strut hinges like these:
Then the lid can be locked in open position and the whole thing folds up and protects what’s inside during transport.
The briefcase-type cases that don’t utilize the lid space always annoyed me, but a foldable, portable, two-level Kosmo case might be just the thing!

Oh this is interesting. Hmmmm…

I use case locks to clamp cases together. Works very well although I had to reinforce them by heating them up and soldering everything together inside, but it works fine.

I love that case!
The strip at the top of the lower section is a great idea.
Have I missed (or forgotten) other pictures of this?

Well, in Eurorack, it’s typically done with a 1U row.

In my old PA company we had custom made smaller wooden racks for the 19" gear (3HU & 6HU) They had 4 holes on the top made with a forest drill, not all the way through of course, that matched the size of the feet. That way, the racks couldn’t slide off if stacked and they automatically aligned nicely.

What if the top of the cases would have rubber slippers that fit the feet? That way the cases would interlock.
