This made me sad too. But I’m in several minds about it.
I kind of think at least it isn’t Facebook. Epic Games have been OK in games generally. They only take 10 percent when other stores take 30. But obviously, Bandcamp is no longer independent and now just making profit for another huge company. And that company is 40 percent owned by Tencent. So now the biggest indie music platform is part-owned by (a company under) China. I guess that won’t affect the service really but considering the censorship of Independent music in China it’s a bit ironic.
Anyway, those are just my unfiltered thoughts. It’s unfortunate, basically.
