What’s the pickup arrangement? The current circuit and what you’re trying to do. I’ve done a fair few guitar mods.
so its a strat set of burns trisonic
each pickup has 3 wires, 1 ‘live’ - 1 coil ground - 1 pickup box ground
im sending both my coil wires to a dpdt in this config https://www.warmanguitars.co.uk/2019/03/04/how-to-wire-a-phase-reversal-switch-into-your-guitar-pickups/
coil positive and negative coming in at the bottom, left middle sent to my 5 way switch, right middle sent to ground
im getting signal come through when its switched one way and silence on the other side, thing is i had this exact setup and it worked then i tried putting the pickguard onto my body and it stopped working, now wont work again
i should also add when i flip the switch any other pickup thats in the chain goes silent too, eg middle and neck both go down
as a side note everything else is working fine out of the body but as soon as i start to put it in i lose level and my tone knobs stop working, i recognise this as a grounding issue? i havent shielded my cavity yet, could it be that? seems weird thats it happening to bare wood
I would start with retracing your ground and making sure you only have one. Then test the switch does what you think it does. (I reverse halfway through sometimes)
The circuit you have looks fine. Test the pickups.
There are many good phase mods (stew Mac website list a few) .
Draw it out then test each section crossing off what works…
It will work. Keep at it.
