XFM2 tuning/bank files

Hi - hoping someone in here might have these - I’ve grabbed the parts for the XFM2 and registered for the software on the website, but the Zip archive I got sent only has the .bin file in it, not the tuning file or the factory banks.

does anyone have these files they could possibly share so I can get going? keen to have a decent play with it and also I’m planning to make a midi2 interface to it so that it can expose all it’s controls nicely.

I have everything here for the XFM2 and XVA1

Legend - thank you …

I’m a macos user - so got busy last night and found trabucayre/openFPGALoader: Universal utility for programming FPGA (github.com) - which happily uploads the .bit file to enable flashing.

I then forked the Xload source and got it to compile and run in macos - strong text shelson/XLoad: XLoad command-line utility for the X-series FPGA-based synthesizers. (github.com)

So with those you can build/configure an XFM2 or XVA1 purely on a mac

I have the XVA1 working  https://youtu.be/3S4mzsnpAVE

Hi, I finished my XVA1/XFM2 build last november and am having similar issues. The XFM2 files aren’t available and the XVA1 patch file doesn’t appear to contain any data. Does anyone have both sets they can share?

I was so happy to find this post, as working with Win 11 and the CMOD A7 comm has been pretty disastrous. However, I’m not knowledgable about compiling C/C+ to run on MacOS. So, forgive my lack of knowledge here if these questions are really dumb.

Does a compiled version exist that could be downloaded from Github? I could not find one there.

If I need to compile it myself, which environment should I use? I assumed VSCode, which I have and tried, but I don’t know what I’m doing. Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

Bob

Welcome!
There are no DAQs* here.
I’d take a look at @craigyb 's git hub (link above).
Keep us posted.

Thank you both for the responses! I will take a look @craigyb 's git. @TheUnicornController --Specifically, wondering what environment you used to compile the code. Was it Visual Studio Code?

Actually, I don’t see Craig’s git link, just the one from TheUnicornController?

Super cool, thanks Craig! Do you find that you are using the synth much? I’ve been trying to get mine set up, but there are horrible tuning issues. From what I can hear, it sounds great.

Unfortunately I don’t get to play with any of my synths, built or store bought since the war started. I have a Hydrasynth Deluxe I bought and it arrived at 10pm on February 23 2022, thought to myself, I will set that up in the morning, but the Russians had other ideas. So it’s 2.5 years old and never played a note.

That is really unfortunate, Craig – I’m sorry to hear about this. Words seem trite in situations such as yours, but I hope better things for you and the Ukraine. Reminds me I take a lot of things for granted.
