Yeah, sourcing from Chinese sellers is risky, especially if you’re not set up to test the chips so you can dispute the purchase before it’s too late. With enough luck, you’ll get a recycled chip that works, but it’s not like there’s a big stash of new old stock out there; anything that looks new or fresh is an old chip of unknown origin that has been touched up (“remarked”) to look like new.
