really nice work guys !! I need to build this module too, my board (first version of wave trigger) take the dust since months…
have you amplify the output signal into a modular level or not necessary ?

I don’t think it’s necessary. I run the output into my interface so I can just change the gain there, but nothing seemed that off to begin with.
I’ll admit I find the levels a little on the low side.
As mentioned in another thread, I’m going to post more images of how I have this setup. Hopefully it’s clear what is what. If anyone has questions I can clarify.
This is extremely helpful!
The wires coming off the audio out barrel go to the left and right channel respectively because I like having separated jacks for stereo.
I also ran out of green so the white trigger inputs aren’t any different.
The loose wires that go to the Arduino for programming have the hookup to the Arduino detailed in the other thread.
I use a wav trigger with 20 sample banks of 37 notes (samples) in each bank to create a mellotron bank. The wav trigger can hold 4096 samples so spreading the banks 50 notes apart gives you banks you can access simply by incrementing the sample number by 50. So note 37 bank 2 would be sample 87 etc.
Wav trigger panel on the way! 14 1/4” trigger inputs, 14 push buttons to “sample” the trigger loaded, and 2 push buttons - 1 bank up and 1 bank down
Disclaimer - I’m a total amateur and idiot when it comes to a lot of this stuff!
I connected a 1/4” input jack to the first trigger on the wav trigger. For some reason, whenever I connect my keystep pro, the sample triggers upon release of the key rather than upon key press. Do I have something wired backwards? Any idea?
Its been a little bit since I’ve fooled around with it, but that might be something that you set in the .ini file.
I’ll definitely check out the editor, thank you!
Got it! Now I just have to figure out how to get my buttons to work
Any chance you might remember where this wire is going?
Hey! I recognize that XD
The red line is a +5 volt power line for the push buttons. If you dont have them, you can skip it.
Perfect! I do have push buttons! That would explain why they’re not working
I think you are going through the same thing I did…
It sure seems that way! Good to know you got yours working though!
It would never have happened if not for the kind folks on here.
Hi wav trigger builders and users.
What’s the latency like on this thing? Would it be usable as a sample based drum machine? I see the Tsunami version can be triggered via MIDI, but quotes a latency of 8 to 12 milliseconds, and I’m wondering if that would be noticeable?
Cheers
Haven’t noticed any latency problems at all.
Have you noticed any issues triggering samples at a really high tempo and the wav trigger skipping over any? For example, if I try to trigger like 5 steps all back to back in a row, it may or may not trigger all 5 - sometimes 4, sometimes 5. Any idea?
