VCA vs. VCA + Mixer

I need a more traditional VCA. While the safety valve is fun, I think I could use something a bit more flexible. I am attracted to the simplicity and small size of the dual VCA - but could probably be talked into getting the VCA + mixer. Or perhaps there is yet another option?

I really like the mixer version, and tend to use it more, but I have and use both. The dual with the faceplate backwards is badass.

The new filter has a vca built in btw

Both!

But, seriously, if you have to choose, I’d go for the mixer for sure.

Yeah mixer for sure.

The great thing about the mixer is if you use the VCA output, the signal is removed from the mixer.
So you can use the vcas separately.

I use the 1st channel as vca, and plug it right back into channel 2 to be mixed with other stuff.

Yep! That’s exactly what I do with my lead voice into the triple Splashback.
