Utility band splitter

Hello dear friends,

I have the schematics for a multiband distortion module.
What it does it taking an audio signal and splitting it into low mid and high bands using crossover controls and then it lets you clip each band individually.

What I like to do is take this schematic and remove some parts so that it does the following:

  1. take the signal and split it up to 3 bands, using the same crossovers as the original.
  2. leave the high and low bands intact, unprocessed.
  3. using the i/o jacks, output the mid band so that it can be processed by another module, and then take it back into the audio path.
  4. Attenuate the returned signal if necessary and sum the 3 bands together.

Everything that I’ve mentioned is already in the existing circuit. All I need it to know what components to take out.

I assume it’s the distortion circuits, but I didn’t want to do it without first confirming with some experts (you) first.

Attaching the schematic.

Thanks!

im not a complete expert but i would be tempted to just skip the post- distortion op amp (u3 a,b and c) and connect pin 3 on the drive pots straight to the band summing op amp (u3d). if youve got a breadboard and the parts i think it would be worth testing a couple of designs tho.

good luck :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for helping out
Would something like this work?

that looks pretty solid but like i said im really not an expert on this kinda thing. ill try and breadboard it out when i get a chance and post some results :+1:
