I am thinking about trying to do commissions for people and their synths. What is the market for this? I am asking strictly for information. I have no intention on making this thread an ad. If that makes sense. Like if I managed to put a durable art piece on a metal panel or created art on the side of some ones cabinet is this a desirable thing this community is willing to pay for? Thanks in advance for any information you can give. Plus I am very grateful for all the advice I got thus far. I surely would be lost on my project if it was not for you guys.

Well, for me, I want everything you guys make and share—just because. Lol. Commissions might be hard at least to get started. I would make a few designs as examples

Well on a plate no bigger than 6 inch by 12 inch and not bigger than the monster 12 inch by 15 inch it could not be that hard. Also keep in mind the knobs have to go on it too. Obviously the commissions wont be very expensive unless it uses the top notch acrylic hundred usd tubes of paint that exist. I personally use Basics acrylic paints with a lot of clear acrylic in a can. Let me give you a picture of my last attempt at it. Keep in mind this only failed because of the dimensions and its function. The paint lasted a very long time. Even the scratches are only due to very rough handling. I should be able to repeat the process on my next panel the MIDI to CV converter computer module.
Yea, this failed only because I changed my mind to do a cluster instead of a microcontroller alone.

If you do pets’ or characters’ art in acrylic on aluminum that might create a market. Also I’m sorry I don’t have any reference of how I would commission an artist. Regardless I can keep it in mind when I have references.

I got the commission process covered. I have a Deviant Art account and I am working on eventually having my own registered business. It is a real blessing when it comes to having a public accountant in the family. The only reason I have not started an official registered business is because it makes my financial income complicated. I have a team of social workers on it. Basically I am on disability and the Ticket-to-work program is not flexible. They count hours spent not profit. There are other programs for entrepreneurship and I am really positive about getting started as a cabinet maker, a DIY tech, and writer/artist. Way ahead of you bro.

Thankyou for contributing information. I won’t be able to do my characters on client pieces just yet due to how my books are not published yet. I risk losing IP protection. My tulpas are too special to me as well. If I have IP protection then I can safely market them as promotionals for my books with client pieces. Until then I will have to count on other people’s OC’s. Which by the way is really big right now in the pony and anthro furry subcultures.

I apologize. What I should have asked is had you prepared to do art from references of pets or O.C.'s. I can’t commission right now as I’m in the process of the references to all my O.C.'s. Fumu I’ve barely cracked into but is a macro dragon. Esopus has looked like a macro dragon of an Asian type but is adapting to how I’ve been looking deeper. I want to brand my Kosmo modules with an average furry size O.C. in a open species I’m at work on. I have a lot to work on to my Kosmo and to designs of modules. Most of my exploration of my O.C.'s has been through my own musical works with the addition of visual commissioned work.

Graphics for PCB based panels are a simple way to get it done. I have a tutorial on how you can make your own panels in this way in the thread below:
Personally, i think the market would lean closer to the design of art assets that look good with only 1 bit color information more than the actual production. Since the process of screen printing and producing these panels is so easy, anyone can do it.
Check out @d42kn355’s panel blanks for a good example of what can be done here. They even used the other layers to get more complicated designs/colors.
