I got the Arduino and shift registers bread boarded. I am having a little trouble with the D-type Registers. I think I just have a wire out of place. I hope to have something to show in video Wednesday on a very basic demonstration for my idea. For now I made up my mind on how this will go together. I like Cosmo’s design in that its 3 separate cabinets. I will do the same only a bit more wood work and many hours of mixed media for the finish art. Again thanks for all the help thus far.

A minor setback
.
.
So, had a sort of family Dilemma. Nothing serious, but my mother had a bad day over it. She was going to help clean my apartment after my brothers doctor visit. My brother has severe autism in turrets syndrome. I have autism in aspergers. My brother was at the hospital for close to 7 hours because of them being way behind schedule. My mother pulled through, but wanted to save the cleaning project for tomorrow.
.
On my end I screwed up the Ardiuno some how. I am going to start with fresh 595 shift registers to see if that solves the problem. It works, but the leds dim between flashes in the example code I am using to proof the connections. Good news is, I got a hold of a wall wart AC - AC adapter. I got the power supply working and its ready when I get a proof of concept going.

Finally a break through!!!
Yes it was the shift registers and the IC’s. I will be working on getting the D-type registers working for the cache as soon as soon as I get the rest of my place picked up. My kitchen and bathroom are clean which is a big thankyou to my mother. The small forum box is a bit finicky to work with. I had to log out of what ever it was logging me into just to get my FB account to work. Yes, I am moving all my blog stuff to Wix and I will be maintaining the website for my books I plan to publish as well as other content.

I got a package in the mail. I kind of forgot I ordered these Chips. They are from China and well I never had problems with China. I actually bought all the output 1/8 jacks from there because I wanted plenty on hand. Like I don’t know. 500 pcs? Ok fast forward to the current time I ordered multiplexers because I was sick of wiring logic gates into a matrix for multiplexing. They arrived today and I was so freakin excited until I opened the package. They were smashed together where the pins overlapped. They had like kitchen food grade plastic wrap on them. You know the kind that sticks to itself because of static?
.
Fortunately the one I bread boarded did work. I simply bit banged it with a dip switches if you catch my drift. I carefully pulled the rest apart out of the plastic wrap and gave the seller an accurate review. I never liked taking the money back option. I always thought people abused it. So I left my negative review and accepted the product. If the first one I tested worked then they all should work. The ones I have I hunted down. Only two sellers on eBay sells them. Both from China
.
So all that to say, I should be able to do an interesting demonstration for my next video. I am getting a lot accomplished. Been really busy with cleaning, but I have managed to fix the D-type register problem. I will have a tutorial typed up for this soon. I am calling the tutorials for the MIDI to CV module “Look Mum a Computer.” If no one objects I think it would be a fun parody between Sam’s and Ben’s YT tutorials. I am quoting both with MLA format. Which means links will be provided for people to check out the channels I quoted. The module itself will be named “The Dragon Trainer.”

I finalized what I want the MIDI to CV computer module to look like. I also decided to make my synth semi-modular. I really want it to be dependent on how patches are made. However, I won’t be too terribly focused on independent modules. In order to make things fit together properly I will be combining things here and there if that makes sense.
For now here is the final layout. I am at my parents house for the 4th July celebrations. I did not bring my decent camera. So, I have to post it somewhere in order to download it. My cell hates my computer. Sigh!
