The "Cheap Step Pro"

I got a call out from work last night and spent an hour and a half helping my guys do system upgrade I had forgotten they were even doing… Anyway, that left me some time to take back which is usually tricky but i had a slot today…

I spent a while practicing the opening bars to Bach’s Toccata, and playing with Cakewalk…

Then dove into puting some project tasks and issues into the CSP project on Git Hub…
And then closed a number of them down.

The Arduino nano has been changed on the PCB so it will sit upside down to make it fit between the PCB and Panel.

There is a switch that enables the clock or is a momentary “step” switch… That was upside down. so I rotated that.

I checked the Power feed to the switch was correct after “Bodging” a fix on the last board.
I checked the I2C mux was correctly wired to all the control board headers.
Removed the 7806 which was going to be used for the CV but did not work.
Moved the switches 1.5mm further apart
Added I2C headers for displays for the clock and general information.

Got over the little hurdle

10 mins today… Lol.

Updated the PCB to change the F.Fab and B.Fab layers to SilkS so that the values actually get printed.

I should have read my post 20/8/20… I thought in my head that i needed to correct the switches and connect to +5V, after months away I looked at the schematic and it was at +5v so I though I had fixed it at some point… Well no, they should be ground…

It’s a little issue, corrected already. I may just fit outboard pull downs on these test boards.

Almost done with the hardware, there is one final bug on the last pcb but its just a missing resistor.

Jesh has it been that long…

I got most of this working but kept getting a Click on on the output if a step was realy low voltage. Need to revisit it when I get a chance. Still was a worthwile leraning process.
