Stripboard to Panel Mounting Trick

Here is a board mounting trick that I have used a couple times now, maybe it will help someone else!

10-Pin power connector- remove the middle pins, and drill a hole in the back wall of the connector.

Line it up however it needs to be oriented.

boom, your board is mounted.

great idea , looks like it would be stronger than single screw holes .

For a second. I thought you did this too the power connector. Then came back to reality  This is great I need to use this method. Use up some of my 10pin headers.

this is some big brain thinking right here.

I was going to say it’s a waste and just use a metal L-bracket… but the L-bracket probably costs more!

Would be good to use those leftover pins though  LED’s??

This is a neat idea ! I like it a lot.

I’ve taken a different approach. As I am printing the front panels, I thought I’d add a groove to hot glue the pcb into and a compartment to house the connector that connects the module to the power supply.

This works because the PCB is very small here.

I can’t find L backets that are small enough.

ACE hardware only has these giant ass metal brackets meant for like, siding and stuff. lol

https://www.acehardware.com/departments/hardware/angles-braces-and-brackets/metal-angles/5118096 maybe? (cut into suitable pieces, as described here)?

(ok ok I should stop googling random stuff and get some doing done)

im kinda working with limited tools lol.
I would love to just cut my own brackets from alum L stock but alas, I have a dremel, and no vise, no garage, no real crazy tools lol.

Some day… man… I want so many things… lol workshop things.

I so badly want to get a 3D printer some day.

I fear buying a cheaper one would result in more cost than buying a nicer one. lol

The Prusa Mini seems to be doing allright, and the Ender 3 appears to be very ok for the money. Especially if you are starting with 3D-printing, I think starting with a cheap device which has good reviews is a good idea to find out what it is all about.

those are WAY less than I thought they would be.

The Ender 3 is build after the Prusa MK3, which is open source and of which more than 150.000 have been sold. The Prusa Mini is a new cheaper version that should print in similar quality and is supposed to be twice as fast.

Hold it down with a couple clamps and cut it with a hacksaw. I know, I know, “Which Dremel bit is the hacksaw?”
