Power supply connector voltage rating

Hi… hope this isn’t a stupid question (it probably is) but I haven’t built a power supply before.

I want to build an MFOS wall wart bipolar power supply with a 12v ac wall wart.

I want to connect it to a dc power connector on the front panel. The majority of connectors for sale seem to be rated for 12vDC. Would a connector rated for 12v DC be sufficient or do I need to look for one with a different rating?

Thanks for your time!

There are no stupid questions here. Ever.
The DC connector will be fine. It will pass the AC 12v to your case’s bi-polar power.

Welcome to the forum. There are many good discussions and threads on power supplies here, just use the search function.

And remember to ask when you need anything.
