Polymorph analog VCO

I’ve created an analog VCO based in the SSI2130 chip. It features:

  • Main oscillator with various waveforms:
    • Triangle
    • Saw
    • Square/pulse
    • Sine/half-sine
  • Suboscillator with 3 different waveforms:
    • Triangle
    • Saw
    • Square
  • A voltage-controlled mixer with:
    • 5 channels (triangle, saw, pulse/square, (half) sine and sub)
    • an attenuverter of each channel
    • additional individual outputs for each channel
  • Coarse/fine tune and an octave switch
  • Exponential FM
  • Through-zero linear FM/PM
  • Hard and soft sync

The full schematic and BOM are on my GitHub page. I’ll create a little demo once I get my system back together. PCB/panel sets will be available soon!

Magnificent work! I have a slightly off-topic question, but how do you do your panels?

Thanks! This is just an FR4 panel made by the PCB fab house, using silkscreen and HASL for the markings.

This is gorgeous. I would certainly be interested in a panel and PCB when you have them available!

I would like to see a technical description of the suboscillator and usage models.

What technical description would you need besides the schematics I posted, and what do you mean by usage models?

Sorry about that. I found exactly what it is. I hadn’t seen that before.

I have 6 of SSI-2139 oscillators (adding two more) in my prototype with software controlling all of the inputs. A large array of D/A converters interfacing. It is a work in progress.

Looks awesome!! Looking forward to the demo. And I am definately interested in buying a PCB/panel set!

I think a proper demo might take a while. My system is still scattered in bits and pieces, and right now the job is hoarding all my time. Pcb/panel sets are available though! The whole thing is tested thoroughly on the bench.

Good evening TimMJN, where would I be able to purchase one of the PCB/panel sets?
