So that’s how you got the stereo phasy wasy it was really wild!

Actually in this the stereo-phasy-thing is Dreadbox Nostalgia from eurorack-world as it too has three delay circuits and outputs for all of them, I put taps 1 and 2 to left and right channel and dry with tap 3 to center. I should probably design and build a small utility module to help with that, so it would take only to channels in my mixer instead of three. And output level of the taps is much smaller than the main output, so they need more gain. That arpeggio mess with the stereo delay is Behringer Brains (a clone of MI Plaits) through that Nostalgia mixed with dry Arturia Minibrute. And the arpeggio speed or delay length weren’t in anyway synced to tempo of the song.

More Snes stuff. Funny thing, I’ve build or bought less stuff for some months and actually tried to learn how to use things I have. Korg SQ-64 had a big update some time ago, it speeds up inputting the sequences for like 1000%. A step recording where it automatically advances to next step when note is played. Why wasn’t that there originally?
Also, triple splashback delay sounds like a struggling engine when you mess with too low delay time, a good fit for this.

Nothing special but I thought I try out to do a live impro jam on Twitch. It’s more fiddling with the setup than making music but I thought it’s something to share. Anyways, maybe you find some inspiration at least

EDIT: I just realised the mix volume was way too low in Final Cut Pro… I need to reupload :see_no_evil:

If you’re doing SNES classics, let’s hear some Earthbound battle music!

I’ve never actually played EarthBound as it wasn’t released in Europe. I think I should. I actually have a gig with a band playing NES-covers in couple of months. I really need to practice playing keyboard, it’ll be my first gig with something else than guitar or bass. And I need to figure out what equipment to use. Kosmo rack is very unwieldy pair of mono synths, but I think it’s worth it for doubling as quite impressive stage prop. And a possible point of failure. At my punk bands last gig we broke to effects pedals and this band same guitarist, so the possibility is real.

EarthBound is the greatest RPG ever in my opinion, not that I’ve really played many games since that era.

Best NES music:
Solstace - Title Theme
Mcdonaldland - Gopher Grove
Ducktales - Moon Theme

Maybe you can have the drummer playing in time to a MIDI kick, then just press play on a laptop with midi files going into the synth so you can twiddle knobs while it plays itself. Is that cheating?

OK here we go, with corrected audio  still crap but as said, maybe someone can squeeze out some inspiration

I have an attitude problem against laptops on stage, but with that SQ-64 that could work too, although it’s a bit cheaty. I may sequence couple of tracks there as intros and/or drinking breaks, but let’s see what happens. In two months I’ll either post a video of the gig or have died of shame.

so nice of you to show locke the “”“treasure hunter”“”

Hi everyone.
Just released this live video of my latest song, shot in January in a venue in France.
Always using my beloved tools : the modular synth & the midi looper.
I hope to find more time to continue all those projects !

Bass? What bass? Oh that BASS! Wow, how did you make that?

Big bass comes out in the mix - make everything else quieter, use a graphic eq and reference good reggae/dub tracks. Don’t be afraid of transparent limiters along the way. I usually like pure sub bass with distortion to add harmonics then a low pass filter to tame the harmonics back so they’re just barely coming through in the mid/high.

That’s fun, a lot of people told me about that !
