Really cool track !!!
A bit of a jam from last night (also, there is a brief Very Loud moment, so maybe don’t crank this one too much:
more messing arouund
heres this
Too much compression (pumping) to my taste, I’m afraid.
I once went to a gig in Amsterdam by LTJ Bukem and arrived early. Before the show had started there was some Drum and Bass playing and someone had definately been messing with the compressor because the sound was pumping like hell. So I was thinking, hopefully the sound will not be like this all evening. Luckily when LTJ came in the room with some of his crew, one of them immediately walked over to the sound desk and within a second he had set the compressor the way it should have been set in the first place. Definately someone who knew their business! The rest of the evening was a success.
Dangerous aspect of keeping my synths in my office is now I’m constantly tempted to fuck off and noodle…
This made me do, what my people regionally refer to as, the ‘thizz face’.
Allowed myself a little more leeway in the DAW on this one. Sampled some arpeggios from the Microdexed, reversed them, ran them through the spring reverb pedal, reversed that and mixed it back in with the original recording for the whacky intro sounds. The rest is multitracked synths - DIY synth through a flanger pedal on bass, Hydronium through a delay pedal doing some squelchy bounces, Zekit panned through the spring reverb on chords and the TubeOhm Phoenix with filter feedback cranked comes in towards the second half. The drums are from an MC-101 with a bunch of modulation from the DAW, also passed through the delay pedal.
Been messing around with the visualizations too - projectM, glava and simplescreenrecorder, assembled in Reaper.
Cheers
East bay all day! <3
Well, the music was very productive, so a good use of time
I think Sam calls it creative procrastination.

Is there a longer version, I was well getting into that
Not exactly my music, but it is a song a friend of mine made using stems and sounds recorded off my modular and some of his own creations:
I turned my DIY synth setup into a huge drum machine:
Did a bunch of jamming, recorded it all, then chopped it up into this silly track.
Great sounds !! I really liked it.
It’s a cool nice track !
We have a gig this weekend with LobotomiX (my Electro tekno metal punk … band) and i’ve made a little “clip” for this.
Warning : epileptic abstain
BTW we also recorded a piece with my modular to finish the set without guitar, it will be the 2nd time we’ll play it, and it’s really nice to hear my DIY Kosmo ringing in concert on a big sound system with subs
