I probably won’t go much farther with this:

“Alien PigBoy.” Drumbrute Impact, Mini D Bass, Tetra lead and OB-6 “guitar.”

Wauw! Track and video are great! Must have been a lot of work to make the graphics?!

It took a few days to pull the graphics together. They’re all Mixamo assets (but for the pigs) so it was a matter of re-skinning, framing and cutting.

How do you get the puppets to move human like?

Those are built into the mixamo.com assets (check it out.) They have all sorts of free dance, combat and sport actions and characters. They’re generally meant for use in video games but they can be imported as .fbx files into Blender where you can put whatever skin you want on them, or leave the existing skins, put them in backgrounds (which I couldn’t be arsed to do here) then set the camera and render it out. It’s really not as difficult as it seems if you’ve never done it. Oh and I didn’t say “Thanks” earlier, so Thanks, @Jos!

very good sound and vid :+1: :+1: :+1:

Just for context of the music I make - it’s all either early 90s jungle/hardcore or UK 00’s dubstep/garage stuff

Haven’t really made a tune for 2/3 years since finishing uni - I spent a lot of time aboard, focused more on guitar/band projects and don’t get a lot of time to DJ/go to raves anymore. Hopefully that’ll change soon and I can get back to electronic music!

EDIT: this was an early exercise in cuttin breaks on an S3000xl so excuse the messiness at the end. All the non-sample sounds are from a JV2080

Are there still raves? I thought they kind of stopped happening while I was still young enough to go to them. Did they resurge? Heck there was a 20th Anniversary “Raveunion” I went to last year to catch up with old friends and relive the period a little bit. Of course everyone had to be home before midnight to get the babysitters home.
If they’re what they were back when I mentioned, they’re going to have to change some. I miss smart drinks.

Eeeeh, I guess it kind of depends on your definition of raves! When I say rave most the time it’s just club nights, or a couple nearby warehouse venues (this is in Manchester, UK). You have to pay, and there’s bouncers and stuff but it’s no bad thing really. They mostly do house/techno now but when I was younger there was (and still is, a bit) a good dubstep/garage/grime scene.

There are still proper small raves going on, around here mostly associated with the squatting/communal living scene. This is where you’re more likely to get the jungle/hardcore/generally edgier stuff, but you have to go at the cost of things like having your stuff nicked whilst someone distracts you with anarchist literature, or being made to drink a dubious alcoholic ginger beer that the residents brew in their bath. I’m not even exaggerating. Since I left the country I kind of lost track of the squatters and given their precarious living situation it’s hard to know where they are at the moment. I’m not sure I’ll go looking for them again haha

Just checked, the zoom microphone picks up a lot of noise from my computer. When I get a job again I’ll look into buying an isolated DAC, not sure how that’ll be possible when it’ll plug in via USB, but there’s so much RFI inside the computer.

The sound card I use is an Asus xonar, it has a Faraday cage around everything but the op amps, still noisy. It’s probably an issue with ground loop hum and it’s worse when the graphics card is being used. It makes horrible noises.

But such is life. I’m just really grateful I can try out all this expensive modules in software and learn the basics of modular synthesis.

It also means that I can have more informed chats with my dad, who is well experienced with filter design for mains electricity and hi-fi.

Yeah, computers are noisy and VCV Rack is really quite a thing!

Particularly USB-devices! I had no problems whatsoever with my M-Delta Audio 1010 PC card.

I second that , I used one of those cards [ M- Deleta Audio1010 ] for years and it worked great , my son still uses it in his computer . good amount of ins and outs , quiet , never had a problem with the jacks. then I " upgraded " to a Focusrite pro 14 firewire while it is a good unit I did have more noise I had to deal with [ grounding and shielding fixed issues ] .
