Moog Source inspired synth

This synth was inspired by the class Moog Source. The original had 16 memories and the classic Moog ladder filter, quite an unreliable synth back in the day and slow to edit with the large jog wheel.

I took this layout and made a desktop version, vcf from a memory Moog for the filter sound, added pwm and a second LFO to drive it plus replaced the variable membrane positions with real pots. It has 999 memories, midi and is Teensy based. I’m still working on a few issues such as an arpeggiator. But it’s functional.

Nice peace of work! This must have taken quite some time.

Thanks, it has taken some time, I was going to do a direct clone but decided if I wanted MIDI etc I should just use it as inspiration.

Really nice !!! That’s properly impressive.
And I am also so pleased to see another spaghetti lover. :spaghetti:

Is that old school wire wrap? I saw some early home brew computers built this way some decades back and I keep thinking I should buy a wire wrap tool.

Thanks for the serious info dump on the forum, there’s some very interesting reading.

Stay safe!

Thanks, it’s not wire wrap as such, it’s just point to point with 30 AWG wire.

This is brilliant. Very patient work with all that wiring, well done.

I love those buttons you’ve used. Do you have a link to where you purchased them from?

Many thanks

Thanks, PB86-B1 from AliExpress, many vendors.
