Finally found an analog oscilloscope on eBay. I need to fix channel 1 but channel 2 is working fine. I really hope I’ll be able to do a bit more work thanks to this… not being forced to finish a module 100% before being able to check if it works basically.
I could adjust R13 on my 1222 VCOs to generate a better square. 100K works well for me.
Got one of my favorite little blue boxes in the mail!
Blue ones are 3340 breakout boards by @Sonosus. They will make it easier for me to experiment with those AS3340 all-in-one oscillator chips I bought and will serve as the heart of an analog VCO module.
Red ones are busboards - based on Tomarus’s design and the 10-pin edit of it by @analogoutput.
I modified it to fit 6 headers in 10cm (gives you a better deal from JLCPCB), I don’t know yet if it works, but the circuit is really too simple to screw up.
Oh no you’re never supposed to say that
Fast enough to build to get an answer immediately!
I think i will print it a little raft with banana plugs to replace this mess of alligator clips on my bench
Looks good, assuming you didn’t get both the voltage connections and the LED orientations reversed. Not that I would know anything about that.
I fixed my (somewhat hurriedly written) docs site to save folks from having to look up the schematic too many times.

Haha, I assembled the thing before figuring out those additional things even exist, having found it on github. Thank you for putting the board together, it will be very useful for me to learn how to use this chip and assemble a proper worker vco to bootstrap my system
Glad it’s going to be helpful. Let me know if you have any issues with it and I’ll do my best to assist.
After spending five hours watching Sam use one of these yesterday, I decided I wanted one.
Amazon instant gratification!
I bought a Jokari version after seeing them used in some pedal building videos and I’ve never felt more like a pro.
They look identical. I wonder, who copied whom?
phaffff.
cant beat a set of human teeth
that sounds like someone who doesnt have one.
Well, the cable itself can beat human teeth …
Nice tools make everything feel so nice. It’s why I love to splurge on Engineer brand tools from time to time. Expensive, but so nice.
Yay Fedex delivered…
JLCPCB Box
Not Fedex but more yeller knobs
What’s in the JLC box…
Nano Midi Shield, updated version with mounting holes…
Revised ( read fixed ) boards for my quad channel midi ThruMinator midi filter. ( it could be wrong again )
The DCO and direct output section for my Polykit Derived DCO.
the Thruminator and DCO together…
Just had to say…
We are up to POST 4000!! in this thread!
