Another project to while away the time before the Russians get here…
Such a pretty module/rack device!

Updating the DW-6000R
So I was testing the latest firmware for the wave expansion pack that handles wavebank changes over Midi, something I need for my editor to work correctly, but alas it was still broken.
However I decided that pots were not for me and I should really be using encoders on this editor. So I removed the 31 pots and 1 old encoder and replaced them with 32 new 24 pulse encoders with switches. Then replaced the 3x 4067 chips with 5x MCP23017 chips to handle the encoders and buttons.
That was Friday afternoon gone, then I got sick, recovering by Sunday afternoon and in-between the 12 drone and missiles attacks I finished the wiring by about 8 PM, but had to stop as Russia decided to launch a 100 drone assault on my city and ballistic attack which lasted until 5:30 AM this morning.
So today during the peace and whilst the city recovered I managed to finish the software so the encoders are read and update the parameters, still no simple fix for the wavebank changes, but I’ve updated the developer with the issues.
Here are the original board, later with encoders and the front of the synth with new knobs, unfortunately I don’t have any encoder style small knobs.
