I’m gonna build the Thomas Henry bass++ and see what happens. I spent the evening trying out a couple vco circuits for opa (lm13700) to maybe try to understand the vco part of the Barton schematic. I made some progress but not really. I’m gonna try the vco from the datasheet before I go into the bass++. I am trying to build all this on my own or I would definitely like to buy this PCB from Barton. I just want to at least be able to do it on breadboard first.

no thats cool I gave up on strip board stuff early had a few successes but most were not lol.

Success!! Bass++ is on the breadboard working as it should. I will start the panel tomorrow.
