Hey, I am planning to make a rechargeable battery system to replace an old AA*2 system.
I have never used this kind of setup before, so I wanted to check it with you guys.
Here is what I have got in mind.
Forst of all: I have no clue, don’t trust anything i say…
I would connect the battery as shown to the “management circuit” and connect the 5V output from that to “your circuit” or the following circuits.
do not work with the LIPO cell directly, becausse they are “dangerous” when things go wrong. the managemnt circuit should provide minimal “shielding”
this could be total bogus but worth to think about…
Ahahah thanks for the warning regarding the battery, I’ll be careful.
Not too sure about your 5V idea. The battery can only deliver 3.7V and the circuit is not a booster.
I had the assumption that the 5V output only works when the USB C is plugged in.
The 5V is an alternative power source for the USB so don’t use that to power your circuit.
I’m not familiar with that particular battery controller, but the ones I use have battery pins and output pins, so I know I’m connecting the load to the output pins.
I see, thanks for the info.
That’s more what I had in mind, that seems neater.
I can confirm that the modules @craigyb referred to work well in charging lithium batteries. There are several reviews of those on youtube, but I found this one very instructive since it shows how these can safely power things even while charging. The board @craigyb shows is a better one and appears after 8:00 in the video.
All right, thanks all!
I have found that one based on your comments.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
First one needed belt change (so did the other one) but i had to use the mechanism from the second one with the electronics boards of that one… not found of dealing with this electronic ruban.
Anyway, after many issues I got it working with the battery.
Let’s get some mixtape now .
