ARDUINO 8 STEP SEQUENCER wiring

As it says in the instructions
REMEMBER TO SOLDER THE RED WIRES TO THE ARDUINOS 5V PIN. AND THE GREEN WIRES TO THE GROUND PINS! it wont work otherwise. sorry if that is not clear in the images above.

I get the red wires , there the ones from the 2 SPST switches , but the green wires , they appear to go around the circuit, from the LEDs to the top line of pots , to the second line of pots , to all the jacks , and then , via a 10k resistor to the push buttons , there is a mauve lead from each of the push buttons that goes back to the Arduino , but where does the green/bare wire go , there is also a mauve wire that goes from the LED via a 1k resistor to top and bottom pots and then to the Arduino step out pins ( times 8) , does the green/bare wire go to the Arduino ground ?

Cheers

Daryll

yes all the green wire is GND and you must connect it to the GND rail on the circuit.
