8 Step Sequencer Jack Ground?

This may seem like a simple question…

I started getting interested in making electronic music at the tail end of 2019…
This was fueled after watching a bit of 8-Bit Keys, Finding Dr-Mix and LMNC…

I have learned a shed load in 3 months. and bought a number of Keyboards to learn the KEYS…

But modular is so cool, I have 3 Kosmo kits to build when the rest of the components turn up.

In the mean time, today I did the hardware fit out on an 8 Step Arduino Sequencer… One bit puzzles me though. And that’s that there is no Permanent ground show for the Jacks?

Is that correct, that they just ground on each arduino Digi Pin?

Cheers

Rob

Unfortunatly the basecoat must have still been a little wet and the clear coat cause a run…

For the colour blind, it’s not black. It’s dark purple…

And one side of the button should also be +5V??

I may have missed both point in the video…

Are you asking where you ground the sockets? What is your power situation? Do you have a ground plane or ground bus?

Hi Caustic…

The diagram

Does not show the grounds being tied to ground except through the 10K resistore on the switched side of the push button. If that’s how it is then fine… Or does it need connecting to VDD (easy enough if need be on the stripboard)

On the Supply side of the button, there is no indication that this needs connected to VCC. So my assumption is it does and just to connect that also on the strip board.

DOH…

After scanning the video, looking at the build page over and over…

Then just below the image…

“”“REMEMBER TO SOLDER THE RED WIRES TO THE ARDUINOS 5V PIN. AND THE GREEN WIRES TO THE GROUND PINS! it wont work otherwise. sorry if that is not clear in the images above.”""

Sorted
