Took me till i got the components in to realise… thought for a second that I didn’t get enough buttons XD

@twinturbo Yeah that’s what ill be doing, cutting a plug for the hole and shortening the whole panel =)

@Farabide Id thought about that, but I don’t know if ill end up making another one so soon, got to make a bunch of drum modules first and get a rhythm n section made up in Case 2

Another idea was to stick a red button in and have it say something like ‘ow’ or have one of them air horn calls ‘wa wa wa wahhhhh’
Or alternatively turn it into an obscenity button for the inevitable moron moments XD

Add a mux or clock divider if your next project is percussion maybe?

Or add the BigButton sequencer?

Yeah I’ve been thinking i need some more clock sources/dividers for drums, will save a channel on the BSP.
Ive already got a non functioning Big Button that i need to fix up haha.
Just going to take it apart and start over with it XD

Just got to fix the out jack hole and sand, may be even paint it up a bit n make it fit the cases theme =D

Always use two sockets for your ICs, one for the legs bent downwards and one for the legs bent upwards.

So I made an 11 position octave switch, which is crazy, and I made it using 100k resistors, which is stupid, and then when I measured the voltages they were not at all at octaves even though the resistors had been matched to 0.1%. After a while I convinced myself it was acting exactly as if there were a 10M path from the wiper to ground, but in my design the wiper just went into a non inverting op amp input. I pulled the op amp anyway and it made no difference. I disconnected the wiper from the PCB, it made no difference. I removed the switch from the grounded panel, it made no difference. WTF?

After way too long I realized where the 10M path to ground was: The multimeter.

In other words, the octave switch works just fine, as long as you don’t try to measure it.

I thought about questioning your 11 octave vco but after thinking for about it for a minute I realized it is superior (more superior?) than 5 octaves by 6 octaves

Today I finished three VCOs. Two work beautifully, the third not so much

A nut got stuck inside a jack socket and I didn’t notice until it rattled when I took it to test it. Cue much difficult desoldering. So much heat, wick, swearing, gin, flux. I fixed it but the pads have suffered from all the abuse.

It still doesn’t sound right but that’s a problem for another day :slight_smile:
