Thank you for your fast reply again!
You’re right, I was inaccurate. I meant that the whole synth runs on ±12V, so a higher signal level is unlikely. However, you made me realize that if I decide to use the 25V cap, I shall be careful with external signals. Thanks for the heads-up!
OFF: Tayda-related experience
I try to source most of my components from a local shop. I love Tayda, and occasionally order from them, mostly components that are difficult to obtain in my area; e.g., I got most of the knobs I use from Tayda.
However, I had a really bad experience with the shipping of my latest order. It was not because of Tayda in the first place, but because of DHL. The customs process was incredibly tedious and frustrating. They wanted official proof from me that no Russian iron or steel was used in the production of the package contents (plastic and aluminium knobs). Of course, I had no proof. So I contacted Tayda.
Getting an answer from Tayda customer service is slow and inefficient due to the time delay. Also, they didn’t send me any proof, even if asking for it for days, just told me it’s okay and always been okay. It was not okay for DHL though. At one point Tayda said they discussed the topic with DHL and everything is good from then. DHL said they didn’t discuss anything. And this whole mess lasted on a daily basis for almost two weeks, and I was supposed to pay no-idea-how-much if the package would be once delivered due to additional storage costs and whatsoever.
So, I finally decided to turn the package back, and DHL confirmed that they will return it. Ironically, on this day I finally received a document from Tayda. I sent it to DHL, hoping for the best. Received no answer. Despite the return being confirmed and the ignored proof, the next day I received an automatic notification that the package would be delivered (if I paid a small fee - much less than expected). And it was delivered! Couldn’t beleive it. It was such a relief.
After the delivery I contacted DHL to ask what happened. I mean I was happy… but why was the package delivered if they confirmed my request to return the package? Also, what did I pay for? I received no invoice. They ignored me. So, I sent a few more emails. They eventually got back to me. Received no clear answers, still haven’t got a receipt or invoice, but they partially refunded me due to ‘an error during the customs process’. Weird. So I’d rather avoid ordering from Tayda as long as I can because I’m afraid that customs would repeat this.
TL;DR: I love the Tayda stuff but customer service could be improved, and customs is a dreadful place.
