Will it Hainbach?

Here’s a thread for everybody’s mistreated test & measurement equipment, from your steel-ruler kalimba to your Large Hadron Collider and all sizes in between.
Anything that makes musical noises it wasn’t meant to make.

Side-chained compressor as a VCA

A Thandar TG 102 signal generator controlled by a Korg SQ-1 step sequencer, all through a Boss RCL-10 compressor.

Varying control voltage on the signal generator’s SWEEP IN socket modifies the oscillator frequency set on the dial.

Gate pulses (attenuated down to 0.5V) on the compressor’s KEY IN socket trigger the “expand” mode to articulate each note, with ATTACK and RELEASE knobs to shape the envelope.
