PT2399 into a Noise Toaster?

I have just built a Noise Toaster to my grandson and also planned to add a PT2399 echo module to have it make even more crazy noises but cannot really decide how connect the pieces together.

The NT is running on +/-4.5V with a virtual ground, apart from the power amp, which is operating with it’s “ground” connected to the -4.5V and Vcc to +4.5V.

The PT2399 runs on voltages 6-15V (using a 5V regulator) and for me it seems reasonable to run that module much the way the amplifier is hooked up - isolating it from the microsynth with a DC-blocking cap.

The schematic below illustrates my ideas, but will it work (properly)?

I don’t see why not!

I had no real doubts but the different grounds made me a bit worried.

The echo module is working fine and is a bargain. Around $3 gives you a funny little machine.

(I tested mine together with a Behringer Crave: Crave + PT2399 module a few years ago)

Ground is arbitrary, one circuit’s ground can be another’s 1000 V, and as long as you’re not trying to connect together two “grounds” that in fact are not at the same potential it’s fine. You just have to watch out for resultant DC offsets on signals from one to the other, and you’ve done that.

Looks good to me, should work.

I thought so too, but a second opinion can save me from getting electronic smoke in my eyes.
