UV resin is something I didn’t consider. It looks perfect for us in the cooler latitudes. Curing time is measured in minutes under UV light, and although it’s limited to very thin layers you can build up a thicker piece by using multiple applications. Physical properties of the cured item aren’t too unlike the binary epoxy resin I’ve worked with.
I think I’ll have to put on my thinking cap again. I enjoyed the “crafty” feel of potting electronics in resin. My mignon concept still needs a lot of work, though.
I cancelled the order. I need to do more research into UV curing, and basic technique. I’d like to get a production line method to minimize curing time so I can make multiple layers in a single session. For me it’s not as simple as sun-dried artisanal mignons. Time to watch lots of videos.
