Potting electronics

UV resin is something I didn’t consider. It looks perfect for us in the cooler latitudes. Curing time is measured in minutes under UV light, and although it’s limited to very thin layers you can build up a thicker piece by using multiple applications. Physical properties of the cured item aren’t too unlike the binary epoxy resin I’ve worked with.

I think I’ll have to put on my thinking cap again. I enjoyed the “crafty” feel of potting electronics in resin. My mignon concept still needs a lot of work, though.

And it all comes back… Cool

Well I bought some and one of those nail lamps to cure it with. I’ll see how it goes.

As it’s UV curing and clear, curing solids should be just a matter of time exposed. That said I look forward to your results. Enjoy

I cancelled the order. I need to do more research into UV curing, and basic technique. I’d like to get a production line method to minimize curing time so I can make multiple layers in a single session. For me it’s not as simple as sun-dried artisanal mignons. Time to watch lots of videos.
