This is another little display conversion project that I’m working on. The idea is to replicate the custom 40 character VFD displays of the Oberheim Matrix 12/Xpander synths in modern OLEDs. Early days yet and I just wanted to get the displays up and running. I was testing a serial connection which was producing garbage so eventually went with 4bit parallel to keep the pin count down. Yet to build the logic and interface it to the ESP-32 chips.
